Join the Urban Land Institute’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) for a monthly breakfast series featuring highlighted female guest speakers in an intimate breakfast setting. This breakfast will provide women in the industry an opportunity to build meaningful relationships and gain career insights as they discuss certain topics. The WLI Monthly Breakfast is members only and registration is very limited
Geralyn ‘Geri’ Presti
Geri Presti formally served as the EVP, General Counsel, and Secretary at Forest City Enterprises. She is currently the President & CEO of The Music Settlement.
After earning her Bachelor of Music (summa cum laude) at Ohio University, Presti began her career as a music therapist at The Music Settlement, the 104-year-old Cleveland non-profit organization that provides music instruction, music therapy, and early childhood education to thousands of northeast Ohioans annually.
Geri Presti’s dedication to the Settlement has included 15 years of serving on its Board of Directors. She served two terms as TMS Board Chair, during which she and Robert Conrad co-led The Music Settlement’s year-long Centennial Celebration. She has remained active in the Settlement’s work as Board Emeritus.
The honors that Presti has received in recognition of her constancy to the Settlement include a 2012 Judson Smart Living Arts Award and a music-therapy studio named in her honor at Kulas House at TMS.
Linda Kane is the former Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Forest City Enterprises, Inc. (NKA Forest City Realty Trust, Inc.) with over 35 years experience in the real estate industry. As a CPA, her 25-year career with Forest City included a progressive series of high-level executive positions, including Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller.
During her tenure, Linda’s focus blended talent, process and technology to achieve company goals. Linda’s inspirational leadership resulted in profit improvement. Her innovative approach improved reporting and tools used to provide timely corporate decision-making, which in turn contributed to the company’s position as a premier real estate developer.
Linda’s vision to continuously improve financial operations through best practices is an ongoing success story. Over the years, she implemented enhancements in a number of areas including SAP ERP System, Accounting Close, Cash and Bank Account Management and Accounts Payable.
Her commitment to the community speakers volumes. Linda has served over a dozen organizations and nonprofits. Linda currently sits on the Board of Directors for five nonprofits and chairs committees for three Boards.
Linda currently serves as Executive in Residence for the Monte Ahuja College of Business. She received her bachelor’s degree with an accounting major from Cleveland State University in 1979.
