    Hear from Michael Lathrop, Senior Manager of Venue Projects & Architecture, Hansen Coseo, Senior Manager Procurement & Project Services, Lucy Veres, Manager of Community Relations, and Jolene Teller, Coordinator Housekeeping, of Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Wednesday September 13 on how large entertainment organizations like the Cleveland Cavaliers focus on reducing their impact on the environment to better Cleveland for future generations. Check-in for the event will begin at 4:30 PM, and the panel discussion will begin at 5:00 PM followed by a back-of house tour of Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. After the program, an optional networking event will begin at 7:00 PM. Location will be  announced prior to the event.

    Jolene Teller

    Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

    My name is Jolene Teller and I am entering my third year as Housekeeping Coordinator for the Cleveland Cavaliers. I received a Bachelor Degree in Sports Business Management and Marketing from Mercyhurst University and a MBA degree from Edinboro University. I specialize in Sustainable Operations at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. In my role as Housekeeping Coordinator, I manage a staff of more than 50 and oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping department. My duties include maintaining a healthy and safe environment, providing industry- leading practices, and maximizing waste diversion to ensure cost efficiency and an optimal fan experience. With my expertise in sustainable operations, I strive to continually improve efficiency while minimizing environmental impact for the organization and our community.

    Michael Lathrop

    Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

    In Michael’s nearly 30-year professional career, he has worked on many prominent residential, commercial, cultural, and institutional projects in Cleveland and the surrounding communities. The largest and most important of these projects being the $185M renovation of the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Since Michael joined the Cavaliers in 2010, he has helped ensure that his projects incorporated the newest energy and resource efficient technology to reduce impacts to the environment, utilized environmentally responsible materials and minimized construction waste. Working with partners such as the Cleveland 2030 District, Green Sports Alliance and OVG he has tracked and benchmarked sustainability data to help drive decision making within the organization. Michael’s particular area of interest is the preservation and reuse of historic buildings and their impact on urban and regional sustainability. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of Detroit School of Architecture and is a Registered Architect in the State of Ohio and a LEED Accredited Professional.

    Lucy Veres

    Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

    My name is Lucy Veres and I serve as Director, Community Impact for the Cleveland Cavaliers. I studied Communication & Rhetoric and Public & Professional Writing at The University of Pittsburgh. My focus areas at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse include volunteerism, food security, awareness nights, donations and inventory, and other areas of support for the Social Impact Team. In my personal life, I strive to better my everyday behaviors as related to sustainability and environmental wellness! I am passionate about our planet’s future and try my best to encourage & inspire others to follow suit to keep Mother Earth happy and healthy.

    Hansen Coseo

    Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

    Hansen Coseo began with the Cleveland Cavaliers in an entry-level role in 2015, and is entering his 8th season with the organization. Hansen is responsible for setting the organization’s procurement strategy, including a comprehensive supplier diversity platform, vendor relations, and encouraging sustainable sourcing practices. Hansen has a passion for sustainability and bettering his community, which resulted in the creation of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse’s Sustainability committee in 2020. In his role as the Chair of the Sustainability Committee, Hansen has helped to align the organization on sustainability strategy, re-introduce composting to back of house areas within Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, hone other waste diversion strategies, and establish various relationships with vendors to repurpose or upcycle materials. Prior to his time with the Cavaliers organization, Hansen received his education at The Ohio State University, receiving his bachelor's degree in Sport Industry along with a minor in Business in 2013. Hansen grew up in Brunswick, OH, and attended Brunswick High School, graduating in 2010. Hansen currently lives in Willoughby, OH, with his girlfriend and 2 dogs. He enjoys playing softball and volleyball, reading, and has a love for the outdoors.
